This was my first foray into embroidery, little did I know how long the process actually takes. This project was an education in the lost art of just slowing down and making something by hand.
I created a subtle gradation in the threads by combining two colors at once and slowly transferring them out. I wanted the practice of the stitching to represent a timeless art but the lettering and colors to be modern.
And of course after all that work, I had to hang it in my entry. The phrase has become a motto in my busy household.
Between work and family, life can truly feel like a Thunderdome at times, in the best possible way.
