DREAMING UP A TODDLER BED

We’re getting to that point where it’s time to move Finn into a toddler bed. My nightmare, and probably his dream, is that it will be tricked out in Lightning McQueen everything. I’ve been told by many, that it’s important to make their first bed the most exciting thing ever, to make them excited about the transition. I’m sure our parents weren’t super enthused about the Strawberry Shortcake or Star Wars bedding we requested as kids. But, does that mean I have to give up the idea of a cute room, with unique décor, for his ease of transition? Would he just as equally love a mismatched, hodge-podge of awesome graphic prints, soft throws, and playful pillows? If I could do it my way, it would look like the above combination. What do you think? Can we guide our children's style or do we have to give in to their current cartoon favorites?
