WHERE COLOR MEETS SHAPE
It is an easy statement to make that Australian artist Kirra Jamison has both a strong sense of color and an equally engaging control of space and shapes. Her gouache, acrylic, and sometimes vinyl paintings, are beautiful studies in shapes colliding, with both muted and bold colors marrying to create strong, captivating pieces. When asked to describe her work in three words in an interview, she used “optimistic, hard-edged painting.” Well I’m sold on Jamison, her beautiful palettes, and the Melbourne art-scene she contributes to satisfying her creative brain. Time to get on a jet-plane and explore the scene down under I say!
